Data Protection Statement

Data collection

We record data in the event of a query via one of our online forms or by e-mail or during the negotiation, conclusion, processing of a contract, and also during the reversal of a contract. This data is collected, stored and processed by us.

Your visit to our websites is recorded in a log. We essentially record the IP address used by your PC, the date and time, the browser type and the operating system of your PC and the webpages viewed by you. Personal identification is generally impossible for us and also not intended.

Use of data and supply to third parties

Personal data you provide us with, for example when placing an order or by e-mail (e.g. your name and address or e-mail address), are processed only for correspondence with you and only for the purpose for which you supplied us with the data. We only pass on your data to that credit institute commissioned with the payment for the processing of payments.

We also use and process your personal data for our own advertising purposes for similar goods or services which you had already ordered or booked from us. You can opt out of the use of your data for our own advertising purposes at any time. Send us your message with the subject line "Data protection" by e-mail to datenschutz@berlitz.de Your data shall then be deleted.

We guarantee that we shall not forward your personal data to any third parties beyond this, unless we are required to do so by law or you have given us your consent in advance. Insofar as we use service providers for data processing, the contractual relationships are regulated in accordance with the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act.

Consent and revocation

If you have placed personal data at our disposal you can delete it again at any time. Data for invoicing and accounting purposes is not affected by a cancellation/a revocation or a deletion.

Storage period

Personal data sent to us through our website is only stored as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was provided to us. Insofar as retention periods relating to commercial or tax law must be observed, the storage period for particular data may be as long as 10 years.

Use of Cookies

The use of our services is only possible when cookies are enabled.. This requires that you have activated cookies in your browser settings. A randomly created session code and your client ID, if applicable, will be stored within the cookie. It is thus possible to recognise you as a registered customer.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "Cookies", text files, which are stored on your computer and make it possible to analyse use of the website through your computer. The information produced by the cookie concerning your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to Google servers in the United States and stored there. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports concerning the website activities for the website operators, and to render additional services linked with the use of the website and the Internet. However, we would like to point out that this website uses Google Analytics with the extension "_anonymizeIp()". This causes all IP addresses to be stored in abbreviated form which thus rules out direct personal reference in connection with the stored data. Google transfers this information to third parties as applicable, insofar as this is required by law or third parties are to process this data for Google. You can prevent storage of data by setting your browser software so that cookies cannot be installed; however we draw your attention to the fact that in this case you might not be able to use all the functions of this website.

You can also prevent collection of data by inmstalling the deactivation add-on for browsers of Google Analytics at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your first name, surname, and your e-mail address with your consent for our own advertising purposes. The newsletter is sent by us. If you subscribe to the newsletter, you have explicitly granted the following consent. According to the German Telemedia Act we are obliged to keep the content of users' consents ready for retrieval at any time.
Your Rights, Information
If you no longer agree to your personal information being stored or if this information is no longer correct, we shall arrange to delete or block your data or make the necessary corrections (insofar as is possible under the law), following an instruction from you to this effect. Upon request, we will inform you of all personal data that we have stored about you, free of charge.
